Welcome to another page of ideas in backyard landscaping photos 4. At Dream-yard we are working hard at adding new pictures as often as we can. We do have some great rock landscaping ideas for you to enjoy already and would love to have more.
A tour of this backyard that backs onto a mountainside revealed a
network of lovely pathways. This dry river bed was built to deal with
the melting snow
off the mountain each spring. The owners chose to
landscape
with almost all natural plants and trees.

A mixture of natural stone and manufactured brick create nice flowing
lines in this low maintenance yard. A firepit area in the center
provides a great spot to overlook the city and mountains in the
background.

A nice, private, and partially shady corner make a great location for a
patio and hot tub. They are slightly elevated sitting on a flagstone
patio. Natural stone
slabs also surround the hot tub.

Having a lawn bordered by flower beds, gives this yard colour and
interest in every direction. Keeping nice clean lines without
manufactured products requires
these perennial beds to be hand edged
twice a season.
A little more maintenance may be required for a
traditional look.

A very simple and clean design for a desert region backyard with a pool.
The new plantings along the wall will give some interest to the yard.
It's nice to see here how the yard did not get complicated, but framed
the
beautiful natural view it already had.

A stepping stone pathway leads from the patio to a back gate. These
stones set in the grass can easily be mowed over. Off to the right is a
future herb garden.
Off to the left is a low natural stone wall.

A daytime view of one of our previous pictures showing a split stream
with island plantings. Small boulders mixed with rocks that look like
natural outcroppings, have given this feature a "right out of the
mountains" appeal. Sometimes
it's best to leave water features to the
experts.

Putting greens like this artificial one are becoming very popular for
backyard landscaping. What better yard could you have for a gardener and
a golfer?

A trip to Paris with its courtyards and cafes inspired these homeowners
in designing this side yard entrance. The space leading from the front
to back yard between these two houses now has a purpose.

Back yard waterfalls provide more than just beauty. The sound of water has a therapeutic way of reaching the inner soul in all of us.
